The beautiful alpine high-altitude lakes of Vishansar, Krishansar, Gadsar, and Satsar are some of the hidden gems in the Kashmiri Himalayan landscape that are traversed on the Kashmir Lakes Circuit hike. The Kashmir Lakes Circuit trip is ideal if you want to experience gorgeous lakes with changing colours of water, meandering streams, and breathtaking Himalayan views from high hills.

Day 1 | Srinagar → Sonamarg
Altitude: 2,730 m
Drive: 3 Hours
• Arrive in Srinagar and drive through Kashmir's stunning valleys to Sonamarg, the gateway to the Great Lakes.
• Meet your fellow trippers, settle into the mountains, and soak in the excitement of the journey ahead.
• Overnight stay in Sonamarg.
Day 2 | Sonamarg → Nichnai
Altitude: 2,730 m → 3,505 m
Distance: 9 km | Duration: 6.5 Hours
• Begin trekking through pine forests, gushing streams, and endless meadows.
• Witness the landscape gradually open up into vast alpine grasslands.
• Reach the beautiful Nichnai campsite surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks.
• Overnight stay at Nichnai.
Day 3 | Nichnai → Vishansar Valley
Altitude: 3,505 m → 3,650 m
Distance: 13 km | Duration: 5.5 Hours
• Cross the breathtaking Nichnai Pass and descend into one of Kashmir's most stunning valleys.
• Walk alongside sparkling streams and endless mountain vistas.
• Camp near the magical Vishansar Lake, reflecting the surrounding snow-clad peaks.
• Overnight stay at Vishansar.
Day 4 | Vishansar Valley → Gadsar
Altitude: 3,650 m → 3,810 m via 4,200 m Gadsar Pass
Distance: 14 km | Duration: 8 Hours
• Trek past the pristine waters of Krishansar Lake.
• Cross the majestic Gadsar Pass, the highest point of the trek.
• Enjoy panoramic views of alpine lakes, rugged mountains, and untouched wilderness.
• Overnight stay at Gadsar.
Day 5 | Gadsar → Satsar
Altitude: 3,810 m → 3,600 m
Distance: 12 km | Duration: 5 Hours
• Journey through rolling meadows and hidden valleys.
• Explore the enchanting Satsar region, home to a cluster of high-altitude alpine lakes.
• A relatively easier day to soak in the beauty of Kashmir's untouched landscapes.
• Overnight stay at Satsar.
Day 6 | Satsar → Gangabal
Altitude: 3,600 m → 3,587 m
Distance: 9 km | Duration: 5 Hours
• Cross high mountain terrain with spectacular views throughout the day.
• Arrive at the iconic twin lakes of Gangabal and Nundkol beneath the mighty Mt. Harmukh.
• Watch the evening sky paint the lakes in shades of gold and orange.
• Overnight stay at Gangabal.
Day 7 | Gangabal → Naranag
Altitude: 3,587 m → 2,271 m
Distance: 13 km | Duration: 6.5 Hours
• Bid farewell to the high Himalayas as you descend through forests and shepherd trails.
• Reach the ancient village of Naranag, marking the end of an unforgettable journey.
