Overview
Georgia is where history, mountains, wine, and warm hospitality come together, but for us, it’s always been more than just a destination. The last time we went, we started out as strangers, yet came back as family. Those bonds were so special that reunions are already being planned and that’s the Firgun magic Georgia always leaves us with.
And now, we’re going back, this time for Christmas and New Year! Imagine Tbilisi lit up with festive markets, cozy wine toasts by the fire, snow adventures in Gudauri and Kazbegi, and ringing in the New Year under the fireworks of Freedom Square. Add Batumi’s sparkling boulevards and Kakheti’s warm wine valleys, and every day feels like a celebration.
For us at Firgun, Georgia isn’t just a trip. It’s about togetherness, laughter, and creating stories you’ll hold close long after you’re back home. This December, come celebrate Christmas and New Year in Georgia with us, and with family you didn’t know you had.
Day 1: Arrive in Tbilisi around mid-afternoon and transfer to your hotel. Once settled, begin the trip with a visit to the striking Chronicles of Georgia monument, which offers panoramic views of the city and Tbilisi Sea. In the evening, explore the atmospheric Old Town—wander through the sulphur bath district, and then continue towards Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom Square, where Christmas markets,glowing lights, and festive carols create the perfect holiday welcome. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2: After breakfast, set out along the famous Georgian Military Highway. The journey itself is a highlight, with stops at the , . turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir and the historic Ananuri Fortress. Continue to Kazbegi, where the Gergeti Trinity Church sits dramatically against the backdrop of snow-. covered Caucasus peaks. Later, head to Gudauri,. Georgia’s most popular ski resort, for optional snow activities ranging from skiing and sledging to paragliding. Return to Tbilisi in the evening for your overnight stay.
Day 3: Venture into Kakheti, Georgia’s wine-making heartland. The day’s highlight is Sighnaghi, known as the “City of Love,” where cobbled streets and pastel balconies overlook the Alazani Valley. Visit a vineyard for a wine and chacha (Georgian spirit) tasting, followed by leisure time to explore the Sighnaghi fortress walls. Drive back to Tbilisi for the night.
Day 4: This morning, travel to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and a . UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit Jvari Monastery, perched high above the confluence of two rivers, and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the country’s most important churches. Return to Tbilisi in the afternoon for a cable car ride up to the Mother of Georgia statue and a short walk to Narikala Fortress, where you can enjoy sunset views over the city. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 5: Leave Tbilisi early and head west to Kutaisi. Explore the stunning Martvili Canyon, where emerald waters flow between steep cliffs, and,if the weather allows, take a short boat ride. Later, descend into the Prometheus Cave, one of Georgia’s largest cave systems, known for its illuminated chambers and underground rivers. Overnight in Kutaisi.Evening for shopping at Dry Bridge Market or relaxing in a café. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Depart Batumi and travel through scenic valleys towards Vardzia, the extraordinary cave city built in the 12th century. Wander through its rock-hewn churches, tunnels, and chambers, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Mtkvari River Valley. By evening, return to Tbilisi for a grand New Year’s Eve celebration. Join locals at Freedom Square for the official countdown and fireworks.Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 8: After a festive night, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before your transfer to Tbilisi Airport for departure.
